Visit to DK Composites Melaka for Strategic Collaboration
Batu Berendam, Melaka, February 7, 2024 - A successful visit to DK Composites Sdn. Bhd, Melaka was conducted involving the participation of 3 officers from the BioComposite Technology Laboratory (BIOCOMPOSITE), Tropical Forestry and Forest Products Institute (INTROP), led by the Director, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Khalina Abdan. The INTROP officers accompanying were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edi Syams and Ts. Dr. Mohd Saiful Asmal. The purpose of this visit is to establish a strategic collaboration between INTROP and DK Composites regarding the field of natural fiber-based insulation panel production in the construction industry specifically. Furthermore, it provides opportunities for knowledge enhancement and collaboration networking with the industry in the field of biocomposites.
The half-day visit was filled with discussion activities and a tour of the fiberglass product manufacturing factory. The discussion session chaired by Ms. Maziah Mohamad, CEO of DK Composites, was held between the two parties. Among the discussion highlights were the involvement of collaboration between DK Composites and INTROP in seminars, publications, and future cooperation networks. At the same time, INTROP also promoted graduate programs offered at INTROP as well as student mobility programs.
