INTRODUCTION
The Faculty’s Office of the Deputy Dean (Academic and Student Affairs) undertake the undergraduate academic program administration and handle the Faculty’s student affairs. Full time academic programs are offered to qualified candidates (STPM/equivalent, Matriculation/Foundation, Diploma holder/equivalent qualifications as entry requirements for Bachelor programs at UPM).
DIVISION INFORMATION
The main functions of the Office of the Deputy Dean (Academic and Student Affairs) are:
- To create a quality learning and teaching management system and to assist students, lecturers and external parties to carry out academic related activities;
- To assist in managing the scheduling, student’s course registration, course exemption, examination and other academic matters in accordance with the needs of the students;
- To recruit qualified students to pursue the Faculty’s academic programs to create quality and competitive graduates;
- To assist with courses offered every semester by each department (Department of Food Science, Department of Food Technology, and Department of Food Service and Management);
- To manage student’s activities and academic advising;
- To ensure systematic and appropriate distribution of facilities (lecture hall and room) for conducive teaching and learning;
- To advise and assist student’s club or association (FOSTECH) in planning and implementing activities;
- To review and support student’s activities for approval and funding from the University’s Division of Student Affairs;
- To advise with regard to student’s career prospect and alumni-related activities.
