Introduction

The Department of Food Science offered the Bachelor of Food Science and Technology. The program emphasizes the overall training in the field of food science and technology that will be achieved with the core courses offered such as chemical and food analysis, food safety, food microbiology, engineering and food processing and applied food science.

Bachelor of Food Science and Technology takes 4 years (8 semesters) with a minimum of 126 credit hours as a requirement for graduation . Additionally, students are required to undergo industrial training program in any public and private sector , preparing a thesis and presenting scientific findings in the form of seminars and writing the final year project.

The course content was formulated in line with the latest developments in food processing technology such as food biotechnology, molecular technology and elements of international law standards, communications and water and waste management industries. The program will produce graduates in Food Science and Technology to meet the expectations of the job market, aspirations, versatile and have a competitive advantage. This will catalyze the development in the food industry through the absorption of BSTM graduates in the employment sector.
