UPM : Faculty of Food Science and Technology

The Information Technology & Technical Unit was established to plan, develop, maintain and provide trainings as well as explanations to issues that pertain to the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and technical. Besides that, the Information Technology & Technical Unit is responsible in the preparation and in the handling of the audio visual instruments in this Faculty.

As an IT & Technical Unit, in UPM, all development and ICT services are based on the University’s ICT policy that was created to aid in decision making processes that are linked to the planning of ICT in UPM.

Services :

Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Section provides the following services:

Maintenance & Computer Equipment Repair
Internet Connection Systems/Networking
To prepare e-mail services
ICT Expertise/Consultancies

Technical Section provides the following services:

PA Systems
Mechanical & Electrical Instruments
Maintenance of technical instrument
Repairing services
Technical Expertise/Consultancies

There are two Computer Lab available in the Faculty of Food Science and Technology for our student : FOODCyber 1 (43 unit of PCs) and FOODCyber 2 (38 unit of PCs).

Instead for student purposes, the Computer Lab is also used for some of courses which using special software for theirs student.

Operating hours for FOODCyber 1 and FOODCyber 2 as below :

FOODCyber 1	Monday to Friday Operation Hours : 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Closed : 1.00 noon
FOODCyber 2	Monday to Friday Operation Hours : 8.00 am to 7.00 pm

FOODCyber 1 and FOODCyber 2 closed on public holidays.

This facilites is only for student of Faculty of Food Science and Technology.

All buildings and places in the Faculty of Food Science and Technology been covered by WiFi - FOODHotSpot to facilite a wireless Internet connection for our students and staffs.

For those whose interested in using FOODHotSpot, they need to register with Unit of IT & Technical. Registration is a must for safety purposes and network management.

Students could be registering for FOODHotSpot at IT & Technical Unit and we have a friendly and so helping staffs that will entertain you.
