The Department of Foodservice and Management was established in January 16th 2005 as result of restructuring the Faculty. The Department gained the fields of teaching and research from the Department of Food Technology. The presence of bakery unit helps in the handling of laboratory classes for the particular area. The infrastructure and facilities for teaching and research in foodservice areas are being upgraded. An advanced Food Service Complex for food service training completed by 2007 and been used for practical of the courses. The Department of Foodservice and Management is responsible for the Bachelor Science (Food Studies) programs. The program was first offered in 1996 with three options namely Food Management, Food Quality Management and Food Service Administration. In 2006, the department offers 4 years program in two options namely Food Studies and Food Service Management. The Department also offers Masters for Food Service Management. |
